McMinn High School Renovations

Multi-phase project included a new fire alarm system for the 220,000 square foot existing high school.  Renovations to the Auditorium were also included in the design.  Auditorium received a new theatrical lighting and 32 channels audio system.  Front of house theatrical lighting was replaced and installed on a automatic lowering system to facilitate adjustments and maintenance of the lighting.  House lighting over audience was replaced with new LED lighting.  Existing house lighting consisted of 500W quartz incandescent luminares that produced lighting levels on seating at 18 foot candles. A one for one replacement of the  existing 500W quartz luminuares with 85W LED luminares was designed for the Auditorium.  Post construction lighting levels were 45 foot candles on the seating.  This enabled the School to use the Auditorium for testing as well as performing arts functions and assemblies.

Oneida Elementary and Middle/High School Additions

The 7,900 square foot Elementary School addition included 4 classrooms and a commons area.  This addition is heated and cooled by roof-mounted packaged units with gas heat.  The addition included relocation of the main water entrance and the fire riser which served a portion of the existing school.  The electrical systems included interior lighting, power, communications, and a new fire alarm system for the entire school building.

The 29,750 square foot High School addition included 4 science classrooms, 2 physical education classrooms, practice gym/multi-purpose room, and associated locker rooms.  Packaged roof-mounted units with gas heat are used for heating and cooling the facility.  Plumbing systems included complete domestic water and sanitary waste systems, as well as, an acid waste system for the science classrooms included in the addition.  A new fire riser and full coverage sprinkler system was designed to handle all portions of the new addition.  Electrical systems included site lighting, interior lighting, power, and communications.  A new electrical feed was brought into the addition.  A new fire alarm system for the entire school building will be installed.

There was also a 1,500 square foot addition to the existing cafeteria.  This addition required the relocation of the Kitchen’s grease trap and rerouting of some sanitary waste lines.  Electrical lighting and communications were included.

Air conditioning was provided for the existing 10,380 square foot gymnasium.  Two 20-ton packaged roof-mounted units with gas heat were located at opposite ends of the gym, on the roof, and main duct runs were routed through the steel trusses.

Robbins Elementary School

WWR provided mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical design services for the 46,200 square foot addition and 4,100 square foot renovation to the existing school.  The addition included 12 classrooms, gymnasium with locker rooms, kitchen, cafeteria, administration offices, and library.  The HVAC systems consist of roof-mounted packaged units with gas heat.  The kitchen design included a full commercial kitchen hood system and grease trap system.  Plumbing systems include complete domestic water and waste systems for the addition and back-feeding the existing domestic water system for the existing school.  A new fire riser and full coverage sprinkler system was designed to handle all portions of the new addition.  Electrical systems included site lighting, interior lighting, power, and communications.  A new electrical feed was brought into the addition.  The renovation consisted of four existing classrooms.  New HVAC, lighting, and communication systems were installed in these spaces.

Burchfield Elementary School

WWR provided mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical design services for a 36,600 square foot addition and 2,800 square foot renovation to the existing school.  The addition included 8 classrooms, gymnasium with locker rooms, kitchen, and cafeteria.  The HVAC systems include floor-mounted heat pumps for the classrooms and roof-mounted packaged units with gas heat for the common areas, gymnasium, dining, and kitchen areas.  The kitchen design included a full commercial kitchen hood system and grease trap system.  Plumbing systems included complete domestic water and waste systems for the addition.  A new fire riser and full coverage sprinkler system was designed to handle all portions of the new addition.  Electrical systems included site lighting, interior lighting, power, and communications.  A new electrical feed was brought into the addition.  The renovation consisted of transforming the existing kitchen and dining areas into offices and library.  The existing services were reworked to accommodate the new use of these spaces.
