A new facility that features a multi-media sanctuary, a Strand theatrical lighting system,
acoustic treatments, and facility-wide sound system. Other spaces include a fellowship hall, a complete commercial kitchen, classrooms, a music center, and administrative facilities.
Phase I of this project included a new 66,000 square feet sanctuary. Phase II included a new two story 41,200 square feet classroom wing and a 5,000 square feet expansion of the existing fellowship hall.
Designed a pond heat exchanger type water source heat pump system to serve the new 27,770 sq.ft. Sanctuary addition, as well as, 22,900 sq.ft. of existing classrooms and the renovation of the existing chapel. The pond heat exchanger is capable of providing 100% of cooling (183 tons) and about 1/3 of the heating required for the entire facility. The balance of the heating required is made up by a gas-fired boiler connected to the circulating loop. The water source heat pump units are located in mechanical closets throughout the facility.
St. Mary Catholic Church is a new facility to complement the existing parish center and school for the Roman Catholic Diocese parish in Johnson City. WWR provided mechanical and electrical engineering services . The 34,000 square feet facility features a main sanctuary, daily chapel, nursery, offices, and 12,000 square feet of future expansion. Special systems were designed for the sanctuary area, including custom lighting fixtures, lighting dimming systems, and an HVAC distribution system that accommodates the architectural design by eliminating all overhead ducts.
